Our client is a leading global manufacturing company operating in the wood-based panel industry, with a strong international footprint and production operations across multiple regions. For their production plant in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, they are now looking for a Supply Chain Group Manager to take on a critical, plant-based leadership role.
This newly created position will play a key role as the bridge between the production plant and core business functions, ensuring seamless coordination between production, sales, logistics, and foreign trade. The role reports directly to the Country Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and executing the supply chain strategy in alignment with country and group objectives
End-to-end planning and coordination of procurement, production planning, and delivery
Managing order management, warehousing, inbound & outbound logistics, and all foreign trade operations
Ensuring on-time delivery of raw materials and finished goods while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards
Defining, monitoring, and reporting SCM strategic and operational KPIs
Preparing SCM budgets and quarterly deviation/variance analyses
Managing and optimizing inventories (raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials, etc.)
Implementing action plans to improve service levels, reduce supply chain costs, and enhance customer satisfaction
Acting as a key stakeholder and coordinator between production, sales, logistics, and foreign trade departments
Leading and developing teams: (3 direct reports with a total team size of approximately 43 people, covering logistics, production planning, and foreign trade)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain roles within manufacturing environments
Proven experience in roles coordinating similar departments such as production, logistics, sales and foreign trade
Strong knowledge of road, rail, and sea logistics
Solid hands-on experience in import, export, customs, freight, and logistics regulations
Strong exposure to EU trade regulations
Experience with SAP modules: WM, MM, SD, MRP, APO / IBP
Knowledge of the SCOR model is preferred
Fluent in English. Bulgarian is a big plus
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, manage, and develop large operational teams
Proactive, energetic, hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong business and financial acumen, with a pragmatic approach to operational challenges
