Regional Accountant - MENA

As part of the company’s shared services team in Istanbul, they are currently seeking a Regional Accountant to support operations across the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.

Position Summary

This hybrid role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the company’s Shared Service Centre. You will be responsible for overseeing key activities within the Record-to-Report (R2R) process, supporting financial reporting for the MENA region. Reporting directly to the Shared Services Manager, this role will collaborate closely with both local and international finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely input of financial transactions into the general ledger

• Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with company policies and local regulations

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including accruals and adjustments

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances

• Analyze P&L and balance sheet accounts to support internal reporting

• Partner with AP, AR, Tax, Treasury, and other departments to ensure end-to-end process alignment

• Support internal and external audit processes

• Contribute to the enhancement of accounting procedures and internal controls

• Lead or support ad-hoc projects related to data analysis, reporting improvements, and policy review

• Fixed asset and capital project accounting

• Intercompany accounting

• General ledger reconciliations

• Miscellaneous transactional finance activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Chartered Accountant (CA) designation preferred

• 3–9 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, preferably in a Shared Services or multinational environment

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic and/or French proficiency is a strong advantage

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

• Excellent analytical and communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems and cash application software is a plus
