Description


As part of this expansion, we are seeking experienced Diamond Drillers and Diamond Drilling Supervisors to join a growing team and contribute to the continued development of this significant gold mining project in Papua New Guinea.


Position Overview


These roles are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of diamond drill rigs, delivering high-quality core, and supporting both underground and surface drilling programs. Supervisors will lead and develop drilling crews, ensure operational compliance, and drive performance against metreage, recovery, and quality targets.


Key Responsibilities


Diamond Drillers


  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot diamond drill rigs to ensure safe and productive drilling.

  • Deliver high-quality core samples in accordance with geological and operational requirements.

  • Conduct routine rig inspections, preventative maintenance, and consumables management.

  • Safely handle drilling equipment, tools, and core samples.

  • Identify hazards and implement control measures in line with site safety standards.

  • Work effectively in a remote, challenging environment with disciplined work practices.


Diamond Drilling Supervisors


  • Lead, mentor, and supervise drilling crews to ensure safe and efficient operations

  • Plan daily drilling activities and allocate tasks to achieve metreage and recovery targets.

  • Oversee compliance with safety procedures, drilling standards, and operational policies.

  • Monitor rig performance, consumables usage, maintenance requirements, and core quality.

  • Produce accurate reports on production, incidents, downtime, and equipment performance.

  • Support crew development, training, and problem-solving in high-pressure operational environments.


Qualifications & Experience


Diamond Drillers:


  • Minimum 3–5 years professional diamond drilling experience (underground and/or surface).

  • Strong technical understanding of rig operation, ground conditions, core recovery, and maintenance.

  • Experience working in remote or mine-site environments.


Diamond Drilling Supervisors:


  • Minimum 5–8 years drilling experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability and strong communication skills.

  • Proven experience managing crews, planning work fronts, and meeting production targets.
