We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will involves managing contract administration, project scheduling, reporting, and controls to ensure project delivery aligns with contractual obligations, budget, and schedule. The Contract Manager will coordinate closely with the Project Contracts Manager, project teams, and stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve contractual issues, and ensure compliance across all project phases
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Administration:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and amendments in accordance with company policies and project requirements.
Manage contractual correspondence, notifications, and documentation to ensure compliance and record-keeping.
Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring timely execution.
Liaise with legal and project teams to address contract conflicts or disputes.
2. Project Controls & Scheduling:
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6,/MS Project, or similar.
Integrate contract requirements into project schedules and control budgets and resources accordingly.
Track project progress, analyze variances, and provide insights and corrective actions to the project team.
Facilitate schedule meetings and coordinate with project teams for seamless project execution.
3. Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare detailed project reports on progress, risks, and issues for internal and external stakeholders.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to schedule, cost, and quality metrics.
Maintain an organized record of contractual documents, change orders, claims, and correspondence.
4. Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify potential contractual and project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure all project activities comply with contractual terms, safety standards, and PNGCR policies.
Support the resolution of contractual disputes or claims in collaboration with legal and project teams.
5. Stakeholder Coordination:
Work closely with estimating teams, design, procurement, project managers, engineers, procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure contract and project controls alignment.
Act as the primary point of contact for contractual matters on assigned projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, OR 10 practical experiences as a contract manager in a related field.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in contract management, project controls, or planning within the construction or infrastructure sector.
Proficiency in scheduling and project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
Strong understanding of contract law, standard contracts, and document management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings clearly.
