Our client is an international technology company delivering complex digital solutions and services across multiple global markets is looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join its Sales & Business Development function.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the bid management process across Europe, CIS and the Americas, working closely with sales, solution design, finance, legal, procurement, project management and external partners to develop competitive and commercially viable proposals.
This is a highly collaborative role within an international and multicultural environment, offering exposure to large-scale technology projects and clients across different markets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end bid and proposal activities across assigned international markets, from opportunity assessment through to final submission.
Work closely with Sales and Business Development teams to develop win strategies, key win themes and tailored solutions for individual opportunities.
Review RFI/RFP documentation, analyse customer requirements and identify gaps, risks, commercial considerations and clarification points.
Develop bid plans, submission schedules and internal workstreams, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned with deadlines and deliverables.
Coordinate the preparation of technical and commercial proposal packages in line with customer requirements and internal bid procedures.
Develop detailed cost cases and pricing models, taking into consideration taxation, legal costs, payment terms, internal resources and external suppliers.
Prepare cash-flow forecasts and financial assessments for individual bids.
Coordinate sourcing activities, including identifying and evaluating local suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations, preparing supplier comparisons and negotiating commercial terms.
Negotiate with suppliers and partners on pricing, payment conditions, guarantees, penalties, discounts and other commercial terms.
Support project procurement activities in cooperation with Project Management and Procurement teams.
Identify the need for local partners, subcontractors, downstream vendors or other forms of cooperation and coordinate the relevant activities.
Research and understand the target market, customer environment and competitive landscape, contributing to appropriate market and bid strategies.
Assess commercial, legal and financial risks associated with individual opportunities and ensure that relevant risks are appropriately identified and escalated.
Manage customer and partner registration processes, including vendor portals, qualification systems and required company documentation.
Maintain relationships with key technology partners and ensure registrations, certifications and renewals are kept up to date.
Manage CRM workflows and ensure that bid-related information and documentation are accurately maintained.
Prepare and present bid summaries, including scope, pricing, commercial assumptions, risks and financial details, to relevant internal stakeholders.
Lead the final review and submission of bid packages, ensuring that all technical, commercial and administrative requirements are met within the required deadlines.
Maintain an organised and comprehensive archive of bidding and proposal documentation.
Lead and develop a multinational team, fostering collaboration, accountability and high performance across a multicultural environment.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputable university in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of professional experience, ideally gained in Sales, Business Development, Bid Management or a similar commercial role within the IT, technology or digital solutions sector.
Strong understanding of bid and proposal processes, preferably with experience in complex technology projects and IT applications.
Proven experience managing and developing teams, including multinational or multicultural teams.
Commercial experience combined with a good understanding of contractual and legal considerations.
Experience preparing RFI/RFP responses, public tenders or complex commercial proposals would be advantageous.
Strong understanding of business, commercial and financial principles.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to work confidently with contractual and commercial documentation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
Comfortable working with stakeholders from different cultures, functions and geographical regions.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally without restriction.
